Nutrition and REIKI HIV Therapy programme

About TAPWAK

The Nutrition and REIKI HIV Therapy programme

This programme treats HIV patients who at the time of recruitment, have CD4+ T-cell counts between 400 and 600.  Patients who are or have been on anti-retroviral medications are excluded from this particular programme because they would take longer than the duration of the programme.  Twenty patients will initially, with only ten receiving the full programme treatment.  The other ten are needed for comparison and are given multi-vitamin mineral supplements immediately and full treatment after a year if the first ten are improving significantly.  However, the second ten would be treated sooner than one year  if their health is declining noticeably.

Full treatment will consist of the following optimal nutrition and intensive REIKI;

  • A snack of egg custard with honey

  • a lunch of rice, lentils, spinach, tomato and flavourings

  • One multi-vitamin/mineral supplement per treatment day

  • Three hours of Reiki healing energy transmitted through laying of hands.

Each patient will receive the above treatment free four days each week for three years, whether earlier of later.  The patient is expected to experience the following improvements in health due to the treatment.

  • Improved nutritional status

  • Almost immediate decrease in symptoms

  • Disappearance of symptoms after three months and before one year of treatment

  • Greatly improved CD4+ count at two, two and a half, and three years of treatment.

The rate of improvement is likely to vary from patient to patient.  The treatments are not expected to harm any patient.  (Egg whites will only be used for the egg custard for those patients with a history of high cholesterol and cardiovascular disease)

Before admission to the program, each patient signs a written agreement to participate fully in the programme for the whole duration of three years of treatment.  the third year is required to ensure that all detectable viruses have been eliminated and to repair the damage to the body that is caused by the virus.

If a patient in this programme would experience a drop in CD4+ count down to 350, that patient would be referred to anti-retroviral therapy (ART).  the treatments in this programme will then serve as a complement to ART for that Patient.

WHAT IS REIKI?

Reiki is a system of using life force energy to help the patient’s body to heal itself.  While many types of healing methods use this life force energy, or “ki,” Reiki also uses a set of symbols and words from ancient India that were re-discovered by Mikao Usui, a Japanese Christian minister.  Intrigued by the healing methods used by Buddha and Jesus, Dr. Usui searched through 2,500 years of antique Sanskrit texts and uncovered the secrets of their abilities.  He tested, practiced and taught the Reiki principles and healing methods which he had discovered.  A dedicated student, Chiyiro Hayashi, realized the importance of preserving these findings and wrote down the principles and methods of this system of healing.  Later, he established a clinic in Tokyo to which Hawayo Takata came as a patient and subsequently a student.  Takata, a U.S. citizen, became the first Reiki Master to train a select group of westerners in the discipline of Reiki in Hawaii, U.S.A.

The Reiki symbols and words not only strengthen the healing energy that the healer is able to pass to the patient, but they are also used by Reiki masters to attune their students so that the students then have increased ability to summon the life force energy which they then pass to their patients.

INTENSIVE REIKI

The Reiki treatments in the Nutrition and Reiki HIV Therapy Programme will last three hours, with a break for the snack and other biological needs.  This will be repeated four days each week.  Treatment priority will be given to the patient’s complaints.  The patient is fully clothed.  The practitioner’s hands will be placed on the most needy area, and healing energy will be directed there for as long as the energy continues to flow.  The standard Reiki treatment lasts only one hour and focuses only 15-20 minutes on the area of complaint.  Intensive Reiki, as I have developed it may focus several hours at one time on the affected area(s).
